Introduction

Forgot to post this originally. Hey everyone! I'm Joe. I graduated from Centennial HS last year and played hockey for them. I enjoy any kind of sports or outdoor activities including golf, water skiing, and beach volleyball.

I started this year playing junior hockey in Souix City, Iowa, but then I was traded to play for the Owatonna Express (Owatonna, MN). I love playing hockey and my goal is to play in college. Unfortunately though, I dislocated my shoulder numerous times and ended up having season ending surgery on my labrum.

Now I'm back at home trying to keep busy and figured I'd take the opportunity to further my writing skills!

  1. Eww Souix City, IA. I lived in Souix City for a year back when I was 11. I went to Lowell Elm. and Northeast Middle School. It wasn't too bad of a place. I am just a Minnesota girl.

  2. It's always nice to hear of someone who enjoys hockey as much as I do! Are you going to continue to play once you're fully recovered? Also, what are some of your favorite teams/players? Considering I was born and raised in Minnesota I have to support the Wild!

  3. You said in your post that you play jounior Hockey and were traded from Souix City to Owatana, Does that mean that your are first a hockey player and then a student? What I am trying to ask is if you transfer colleges every time you are traded, becuase that would be pretty hard.

  4. Crystal-Yeah I would agree, the "Sewer" City isn't as good as Minnesota! Rebecca-I'm glad you like hockey too! I'm a Wild fan myself, but I would have to say my favorite player is Chris Pronger (now with the Flyers). Who is your favorite player? Angelina-Basically junior hockey is where players are trying to get (or have) college commitments/scholarships to play hockey for that college. But to answer your question, you dont have to go to school at all while playing, it's optional and most players don't. It's treated like professional hockey in the aspect that it's a business and players are moved around constantly. Really, all I did was practice, train, and play! It's an absolute blast!

  6. I would have to say I have a few favorite players. First, and foremost, I would have to say the Boogeyman. Obviously not for his technique but for being known as an enforcer and being able to draw penalties, give or take a few he racks up for himself. As for a player with actual talent I most definetly would have to say the Koivu considering he's leading our team in points and also because he's the only Minnesota Wild player still on the roster from the 2000-2001 inaugural season. Also, even though Burns is on the injured reserve list, he never seems to disappoint.
